Fun page for our Ukulele jam…our aim is to have ukulele fun, playing popular songs badly and singing loudly, with a pint, or two, close to hand… and the occasional pizza from the kitchen of that smashing pub behind the Empire Theatre. Packed with fun, good beer, Ma’s pizza, the occasional visit from cast members of the latest Empire show, lots of audience participation – what’s not to like?
In 2018 the D’ukes organised the second ukulele festival in the world famous Cavern Club! Here at the D’Ukes we play for fun and enjoy it, our enjoyment is infectious and we can’t help but bring a smile to peoples faces. If you want to start then pop along to one of our pub sessions with your ukulele (if you’ve not got one, get in touch and we’ll bring a spare for you to play) we’ll show you the chords and get you started on a wonderful journey. Alternatively come to Yin Yan Band run by our resident Yogi – Robin, and we’ll teach you there or if you prefer a structured way to learn enroll on a Ukulele Club Liverpool course.
Ukuleles are tuned GCEA (George Clooney Eats Apples)
We suggest you buy yourself a “clip on chromatic tuner”, however, you can always borrow one off someone in the pub. If you want to practice at home these apps have built in tuners http://theukuleleapp.com/ and https://kalabrand.com/pages/start.
